5 Family Secrets to an Amazing Perisher Snow Holiday
Do you want to make your family snow holidays the absolute best time for your kids? If it’s their first snow encounter introduce them gently to the mountain with a skiing or snow boarding lesson with one of the Perisher Kids Programs. For older kids who already know their stuff, taking them on annual snow holidays will ensure they build on their skills, as well as make new friends. But you can also have a family holiday in the snow without skiing. There are other snow activities you can do as a family at Perisher, such as tobogganing or tubing, as well as plenty of entertainment options. Here are some further ideas for family fun to get you started.
A great way to enjoy hours of fun on your snow holiday this winter is by tobogganing at Perisher. This delightful activity will bring out the child in everyone. The thrill of plunging headlong down the snow is one that is not easily forgotten. Perisher has a dedicated toboggan slope located adjacent to the Perisher Valley Carpark at Pipers Ridge and has toboggans available to rent on site.
2. Tube Town
If your family is looking for an adventure-filled snow holiday activity, then Tube Town is the answer. This is the perfect activity for non-skiers and experienced riders alike. The only skill necessary is the ability to hang on and slide down the mountain with a smile.
Perisher has groomed lanes specifically designed to maximise your snow tubing experience. Slide down these exhilarating runs and make the most out of your family snow holidays this winter. Once you’ve conquered the runs, sit back and relax because there is a lift designed just for the snow tubes to take you back up the mountain.
3. Ski Tube
Are you looking for a comfortable way to experience the beauty of the Blue Cow Area? Take the Ski Tube, the only alpine rack-rail train in Australia. On arrival at the Blue Cow Terminal there are dining and refreshments to compliment the spectacular views making this one train trip you’ll never forget.
4. Fireworks at Perisher
Starting in July, every Tuesday night at 7:20 the sky above Perisher’s Front Valley is illuminated with a fireworks display. It is free for everyone and an exciting way to add a little spice to family snow holidays. For smaller children, there are fireworks at Zoe’s Ski Carpet at Smiggin Holes on Wednesdays at 8:00pm.
5. Scenic chairlift rides
The Perisher Quad Chairlift is the perfect way to experience the mountains during your family’s snow holiday. It will take you up to a height of 2,000m where you and your entire family will enjoy the spectacular eastern views of the Snowy Mountains. You also have the option to get off at the mid-station for some warm refreshments before you continue your ride to the top. Tip: you have to try the hot chocolate!
