Fresh from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, some of Australia’s top skiers and boarders headed to the Perisher terrain park this season.

The Perisher terrain park is not just for top athletes but is also the breeding ground for athletes of the future. Easily accessible from Smiggins as well as Perisher, it has jumps and rails for all levels appealing to all ages.

Meet some of Perisher’s top skiers & boarders:

Jess Rich

Jess is an up and coming Australian athlete currently sponsored by Roxy. She won the Snowmass Aspen Open in 2012 . She considers Perisher to have “The best terrain parks in Australia” and was in the park over the winter in Perisher enjoying some sunshine days.

Russ Henshaw

Russ is a 24 year old Australian freestyle skier and a Jindabyne local. He raced with the Thredbo Race Club growing up but has spent the years since age 15 travelling the world competing in slopestyle and big air competitions. He got a silver medal in the 2011 X Games in Aspen.

Boen Ferguson

Boen is a 25 year old freestyle skier and another Jindabyne local. He grew up with one of Perisher’s longstanding ski instructors. He spends his years travelling back to back winter snow seasons and is one of Australia’s up and coming athletes.

Scotty James

Scotty is a 20 year old Australian snowboarder from East Melbourne. He currently lives in Breckenridge, USA, but spends a large portion of the year travelling the world. He was the youngest male Winter Olympian when he competed in the 2010 Olympics in Canada.

Nate Johnstone

Nate is a 24 year old snowboarder from Mona Vale, Sydney. He won a gold medal in the 2011 World Championships and was part of the Australian Olympic team for Sochi 2014.
