Perisher offers more than just skiing. There’s fireworks, festivals, and more!
There’s so much activity at Perisher throughout the snow season, you’re sure to find something you like. Not just at Perisher’s Front Valley, these events take place all over the resort.
Perisher Peak Festival
Australia’s Coolest Music Festival is on again from 8th to 11th June 2018. Festival goers can soak up the magic of the snow fields over the June long weekend whilst enjoying a full range of family entertainment. With a mix of musicians and acts performing world, folk, roots, celtic, acoustic, traditional music, song, dance, poetry and yarn spinning, the Perisher Peak Festival will be showcased in 8 venues in Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes and Guthega Alpine Village.
Night skiing and Fireworks
Tuesday and Saturday nights between July and September will see Perisher light up with night skiing. The Village 8 Chairlift will be open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm (subject to weather conditions) giving skiers and boarders the chance to get a few extra runs in on Front Valley.

Tuesday’s on Front Valley get even brighter with a fantastic fireworks display from 7:20pm – fun and free entertainment for the whole family! (Weather permitting).
And not forgetting the littlest of skiers, Smiggin Holes will be open on Wednesday nights with Zoe’s Ski Carpet operating from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
July is race month with Interschool Snowsports Competitions being held for school aged children from kindergarten to year 12 vying for both State and National Championships.
Live music with top Australian and International Acts
Every year Perisher host a number of top Australian and International musicians to keep the fun going after the ski lifts close for the night. While the line up for winter 2018 is still to be confirmed, as a bit of a taster Chingy, Frenzal Rhomb and Bodyjar, DJs From Mars, Illy, Art vs Science, Thundamentals and collaborations such as the Ministry of Sound all travelled through Jindabyne in recent years.
Australian Slopestyle Tour
The Mile High leg of the Australian Slopestyle Tour will be held during August 2018 at Perisher with both snowboarding and freeskiing events being held.
Masters Alpine Championships
And let’s not forget, it’s not only kids who like to race. The Masters Alpine Championships will be on again from with competitors aged 30 and over racing it out in the Slalom, Super G and GS.
Subaru Australian Junior Freeride Championships
This event will be held during August 2018 and will see Junior Ski and Snowboard athletes showcasing their skills and having some fun in the best Slopestyle, Cross and Halfpipe course in Australia.
